Virtues in Schools

How can we develop more intentionally the qualities of spirit necessary in a civilized society? Some Bulgarian schools are incorporating virtues training into the education of youth, using the materials developed by the Virtues Project – a multicultural resource, which helps teachers and parents to transform words into deeds and ideals into reality.

The Virtues Project struck roots in Bulgaria in 2006, through the work of Terry Madison and Bertha Petruski. In 2009, the Family Virtues Guide was translated, as well as the Virtues Project – Educators Guide. The Foundation team trains teachers in several schools in Sofia. The work of the Foundations inspired another foundation, “Blagotvoritel”, to train over 600 teachers and over 15 000 students.
